What Is the H.E.R.E. Program?
The H.E.R.E. Program is Youth Changes' flagship personal development curriculum — designed specifically for at-risk youth who need more than job training. They need a foundation.
Across 7 structured modules, participants explore who they are, how they relate to others, how to manage their emotions, and how to build a financially stable, purpose-driven future.
Every module is hands-on, culturally grounded, and led by mentors who have walked similar paths.
The 7 Modules
Each module builds on the last — creating a complete foundation for a healthy, empowered life.
Identity & Self-Awareness
Youth explore who they are — their values, strengths, cultural identity, and personal story. This foundation shapes everything that follows.
Emotional Intelligence
Participants learn to recognize, understand, and manage their emotions — and to read the emotions of others. A critical skill for every relationship and workplace.
Healthy Relationships
From family to friendships to romantic relationships, youth learn what healthy looks like — and how to set boundaries, communicate clearly, and walk away from what harms them.
Community Engagement
Youth discover their role in the community — learning how to give back, advocate for change, and build networks that support their growth.
Financial Literacy
Budgeting, saving, banking, credit, and avoiding debt traps. Youth leave this module with real money skills and a plan for financial independence.
Career Readiness
Résumés, interviews, workplace communication, and professional expectations. Participants are prepared to enter the workforce with confidence.
Entrepreneurship
Youth learn how to turn a skill or idea into a business — from business planning and branding to marketing and managing money as an entrepreneur.
